Forming part of the Firefly range of cavity fire barriers within TBA PT and specifically designed for the marine industry, Nautilus gives thermal and acoustic insulation properties to vessels of all sizes. Manufactured from non-respirable fibres, while using a single layer application, Nautilus fire barriers are easy to install with no requirements for weld pins. More importantly the Nautilus range is fully tested and certified to IMO standards, wheelmarked, and GL approved so with this in mind it’s important to remember Nautilus products will prevent the passage of fire and smoke through a marine vessel for up to 60 minutes.
Due to its unique composition NAUTILUS MFB30 provides standalone B Class IMO/MED 15 and 30 minute fire, thermal and acoustic insulation protection. Derived from the Firefly range, Nautilus MFB30 is a unique, innovative, lightweight product with a strong membrane suitable for all B15 & B30 requirements. As a result this product will achieve in excess of 60 minutes fire/smoke integrity and more than 30 minutes thermal insulation in a single layer application.
Nautilus is manufactured using strong, non-respirable and abrasion resistant e-glass making it very flexible and really easy to install, especially in small confined spaces. With this in mind there is no requirement for the installer to use any personal protective clothing or use specialist equipment.
Weighing only 2.2kg/m², NAUTILUS MFB30 marine fire barrier is only 10mm thick.
The barrier is supplied as a concertinaed 6m x 1.3m length (7.8m²) in a sealed bag.
NAUTILUS MFA60SB is a lightweight, easy to install A60 Class marine fire barrier, primarily used within steel hulls, bulkheads and decks. Although suitable for vessels of all sizes, it is particularly suited to large ships. As a result of its strong, lightweight and flexible membrane this product offers A30 (30 minutes) and A60 (60 minutes) fire, thermal and acoustic protection, giving more than 60 minutes fire/smoke integrity and more than 60 minutes thermal insulation.
The manufacturing process is the same throughout the Nautilus range, however the installation process can vary. When installing Nautilus MFA60SB, Fitters and installers must adopt the “three layer staggered joint system”. By adopting this process the installer is not required to fit stiffeners or extra layers of material over the top of the product.
Weighing only 5.4kg/m², NAUTILUS MFA60SB marine fire barrier is 15mm thick and supplied in a sealed pack as a concertinaed 3m x 1.3m length (3.9m²).
